starting a 75, what lighting should i get

Its hard to say what weight your floor can take!
Maybee it can and maybee it can not can you look at any plans of the house ,take some measures and make sure it goes onto the more solid part of the floor.
will your stand have 6 or 4 legs the more the merry.

Being near load-bearing walls will help out a lot also, or near the foundation (exterior wall) is even better. Worse comes to worst put a post under it if possible.

Mine is in the middle of the house on a crawl... I put 3 supports under it utilizing 2 cinder blocks and about 16" 4X4's wedged in between block and joist for each support.

Putting a support would be best or next to the foundation, IMO.

My 75 is sitting in my living room on the second floor with no supports for it from the basement. a 75 gallon tank is not absurdly heavy. Looking at 900 lbs or so with it loaded with water and live rock... My only concern is whether or not you'll have access to water, etc with it being upstairs in a bedroom. Still wouldn't think you'd have a problem- unless your floors are made out of cardboard.
