That's fine for a Fish Only tank, but 1.026 is better for a reef. The temp is right on.

&&Right now I'm in the middle of a conversion from reef to Discus/ planted aquarium. Hair algae beat me down. Maybe a nano in the future. Everything screwed up so I'm converting to FOWLR. Wish me luck.

Aquatic eddy, if you in any possible way can get Metal Halides that's what you need to go with, but if you really can't afford it go with VHO(very high output). Before you decide on lights you need to decide what kind of corals you want.

Half an inch?
Is that from tank to stand or stand to floor?

Either way, that's a lot. I would try to fix it. It can cause a lot of stress on the tank when there is water in it.
