Did you mean Halide? _________  &&Right now I'm in the middle of a conversion from reef to Discus/ planted aquarium. Hair algae beat me down. Maybe a nano in the future. Everything screwed up so I'm converting to FOWLR. Wish me luck. |

| Re: starting *1st saltwater tank yea i ment halide sorry........uhh hey how many lbs. of sand should go into a 55g tank??? how long does it usually take for anything to show up on live rock? o and when i got the LR i noticed that there were some worm looking things on the rock i didnt really do anything but now im having second thoughts, and should i get inverts like little crabs and such first then fish or fish first?....thats all i can think about right now...........thnx |

Hey Aquatic_Eddy
* *Give these links FLECH posted earlier a read. *Matt the admin of this site has set up very in depth stages to setting up a reef aquarium. *Next after you have read I would grab a book. *There is a section on this site for * Book Reviews
Please don't stop asking question here as there are a ton of people that can help you. *My intension is just to point you in a direction where you can begin to help yourself and gain confidence.
Look forward to see and reading of your tank progression

| Re: starting *1st saltwater tank Aquatic eddy, if you in any possible way can get Metal Halides that's what you need to go with, but if you really can't afford it go with VHO(very high output). Before you decide on lights you need to decide what kind of corals you want. |
