Default Small Round Marble Like Ball
We have had our reef/fish tank since about May '07. This past week we saw a small - round - ball - like thing in the tank, attached to one of the live rocks. It does not move, seems soft. Doesn't look like anything is in the ball. Would anyone have an idea what it could be? I did remove it from the main tank and placed in the refugium. Could it be harmful?

If bubble algea - should we just remove it? Only found 1, no more. I was to a LFS that has a very large tank, they had at least a dozen of the bubbles in their tank.

I would remove it. My buddies lfs has some in his large tank. Mostly because he hasn't take the time to take it out.... I read the article and it says to remove it. I've never had it and I'm pretty new so go with what the experts say....

I saw the article and the pic, they look just like that. So that means I will remove it. And I remove any others that I may see.

bubble algae can be white but usually when its dying.try not to pop it cause theres spors in it

with an optimal filtration system and maximum flow it doesnt matter if they get popped or not, even though its better not to.

also theres more spores as they get bigger so its more important to noy pop a larger one.tiny ones don't matter as much.
