I use a 18g needle on a syringe to remove the spores then I detach the valonia from the rock with a scalpel. Seems to work ok. If you have the volume a Foxface is a good addition for ridding the system of valonia.

I still think the next tiem you have an item in your tank that you want help IDing (figuring out what it is) your best bet would be to take a picture of it and post that picture on this board. Like they say a picture is worth 1000 words. Bubble algae is pretty easy to ID but from what you had said in previous e-mails it did not sound like bubble algae.
