| It is best to have a skimmer as fish deficate alot. Fish such as Tangs, Grouper and Lion fish will deficate at higher levels. You could just do water changes weekly to help replenish oxygenated water and remove impurities and waste while adding trace minerals, but really it makes more sense to have a skimmer as well, not only for piece of mind but to remove detritus etc.
The Remora is an awesome skimmer by the way! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. | That place is expensive!! Check out Surburban reef.com. I purchased an Aqua C EV 180 for $301.00. Mop wants $390.00!!!! Big difference!!!!!... My word of advice to you is to shop around before you purchase. Sometimes you will find an item cheaper or on sale!!!!!!!!! |

| I have to agree with the Reefer on both counts: the Remora is a great skimmer (I've been running it on my 20H for nearly 2 months and have been quite pleased) and that you can find better deals out there...I got my Remoa at www.premiumaquatics.com and it was $20 cheaper there...might not sound like much, but as I've quickly found, the bills add up fast in this hobby (just bought my calcium and iodine test kits so i can start dosing puple-up)...
good luck and if you have any questions about the Remora (or anything else) let us know!
