Rebound from total disaster !

A couple of months ago my tank crashed with only one survivor. I vowed that I would not be defeated and would give it a second go.

Here's the thread:

So, I started the cleaning process:

Very very nice recovery. Can imagine the pain and suffering this disaster has caused.


I had just ordered some of the "Ultralife" Red Slime Remover...when I came accross your post.

Am glad now I elected not to use it.

Vigorous vacuuming and water changes have about cured my red slime problem.

That warning "NOTE: May effect ph and oxygen levels" is pretty nebulous --- How were you supposed to prepare for that, especially after hearing others report successful results?

I think a lawsuit would not be out of order.

I ran an airstone in the tank any time I had to use this type of chemical.
