Powerhead in QT ?

Last week I did a water change (my first one) on my main tank and took about 15 gallons worth of water from the main tank and poured it into a 20 gallon spare tank which I will be using as a QT. I toped off another 4-5 gallons worth of freshly mixed SW, placed my filter (Penguin bio-wheel) and heater and a piece of LR from my main tank in and I'm ready with the QT (I think).

The main tank was fully cycled 6 weeks ago.

Do I need to put a powerhead in the 20 gal QT ?

Yes , you will need to keep the tank oxygenated and you dont want the water to get stagnet..

Your bio wheel should be enought for getting O2 into the tank. I dont think that that you would really need a powerhead. But it would not hurt.

I power head 30 gph and air stone. 38 gallon Hospital tank.

Yes, you should have a powerhead in your tank to offer water movement and eliminate dead spaces/stagnant areas.

i would say powerhead good and air stone maybe more really the better but as for LR i would get that out and use large PVC the copper treatments may kill everything on that rock that makes it a LR

Also the live rock would be contaminated with copper if you dose with it ,in your Q-tank and could not be put back in your main tank. It will leach copper into your main take and bad for inverts and coral. I would use pvc pipes like powdertang05 suggested.
