My of my two peppermint shrimp seems to want to run a cleaning station, and my yellow tang has been showing some interest in getting cleaned.
Neither seems really comfortable with the arrangement and spook within seconds of meeting up.
First, Peppermints are known more for aiptasia control than parasite/skin cleaning. Should I simply add a Scarlet Skunk cleaner shrimp (or two)?
I've read that the skunk shrimp tend to interest themselves in scavenging food more than cleaning once they're comfortable in a tank.
Are neon gobies a good option as a cleaner?
    thanks,

I have seen peppermint sometimes clean shrimp, but like you said that are uncomfortable about it. I would say you should get a skunk cleaner for the job.

i have a skunk that cleans all the fish in my tank and cleans the clarkii mouth too.sometimes i catch him hunting and eatting bristle worms.it is always hungry.if a fly hits the top of the water he's all over it.i'm about to get a peppermint for cleaning food that gets sucked into the sump.

I have one cleaner Shrimp that does a great job. Clean Goby or Cleaner wrasse do great jobs as well but can starve if there is nothing to eat

I agree with Reef_Guru and Camilsky, Neon Gobies eat parasites like i eat chinese food. I had an ick infestation in my 55gal, and 2 days after adding the $5 neon goby i had no more ick. You just have to make sure you feed it properly, for its mouth is puny.

    Sounds like a tie.

Half of you said "Goby" the other half said "Cleaner Shrimp".

You've made this decision so much easier!

    ;)

It would be overkill to get both...
I'm leaning towards the goby, though.
I think there would be some competition between the Peppermint and the Skunk for the best cleaning spot.
I do feed lots of frozen plankton, so I don't think the goby would starve....
