| Operation Impending Fill up Let me tell you how my 125 rules.
After toiling for a while on the finer points of the system, the design radically changed. Now it will have a 30 gallon sump and 30 gallon fuge. The fuge will have a surge built into the system with Revolutions by Ocean Motion. Originally I was going to have a 4-way but this allows a better fuge since it will allow little critters to flow back into the system by gravity instead of a mag 18. Also it will allow for alternating currents due to the revolutions AND surging.
The sump will house 2 mag 18s, a mag 7, and a possible mag 9.5. One mag 18 will power the returns while the other will power the UV filter, calc reactor, phosphate remover, and the denitratifing coil. I was thinking about having it also power the up to the surge fuge. My worry is though is when I attempted to test denitratifing coil with a mag 3, it barely powers the coil. It powers it enough to do the proper rate but it bothers me that a mag 3 barely can do it. Another idea is to have the UV Filter plum into the phosphate reactor and then the remaining power to go into the fuge. The sump also will house my 350 watt heater.
Right now I have my tank getting filled up with RO water and I have placed the LR and LS in the tank. I also have my Aqua C EV180 in the tank to help fish out a bunch of crap from transferring the rock / sand from the temp tub into to the main tank.
I figure 3 days until the tank gets up and fully working due to the slowness of the RO unit. I figure it will take 3 days to get the tank filled up.
Lighting will arrive on Friday. 3 400W MH’s at 10,000k.
Plumming was interesting since i raddically changed how it was plummed three times. Partly cause I became informed of all the cool toys plummers have to them with PVC.
Will have pictures shortly.

| Re: Operation Impending Fill up This is in my parent's house, I got a deal on a RR 125 and couldn't pass it up. They wanted bigger than their 30G. Figure I'm going to let them take the hit before I go all out on my system. I figure i'm going to move too much in a 5 year period to make it worth the effort right now.
I had the rock and sand in a giant rubbermaid container set to correct saltinity and about 80ish degrees. Transfered it into the main tank once the RO water was high enough. Popped in a mag 9 to circulate the water while it was filling up.
Now that the system is filled and overflowing, I'm running off the mag 18. |

| Re: Operation Impending Fill up Skimmer is acting up though, can't get it to foam up really. Any advice on it? I adjust it slightly it fills the skimmer or it just doesn't skim. |
