my 50 gal cycled in four weeks with a few chromis and 38lbs of LR. I monitered the water param every three days and kept track. This way I saw all the spikes as they occurred. Didnt lose a single fish either. But, If I was to do it again...cycle with the LR only.

If you want your cycle to go a little faster buy BioSpira it workers in 24 hours since you have livestock. It is filled with good bacteria and speed up your cycling process. It costs about $20.00 and it's worth it.

Make sure to add live rock and live sand. It will also keep all the good bacteria that you need to mature your tank.

Take everything slow though. Take at least 2 weeks to add new fish.
