Default New tank, aptasia and questions on white web sac

First off, great bunch of peeps here. I've been around the last few months and decided this is where I'd like to call home. I can't see paying $25 just to be able to search the forums. I'm not against paying, just seems like an arm twist way to do it. That said, I've all ready got great info here.
First is a pic of my 80g bowfront.
2nd and 3rd pic, I have a 30 tall with a percula clown losing his tail fin. His tank mate (clarkii) has no problems and I honestly can't remember if this percula clown came like this. Check out the aptasia in this pic. It's all going in my new sump I'm building for the 80.
4th pic, my 80 gallon is still cycling. Ammonia at zero as of today and nitrite off the charts. As of two days ago, three L.R. have white sacs growing on them. It's not a bleaching, it is a sac of some sort. The center of it pulses with the current. You might also notice that hair algae is coming strong with the nitrates. Questions are; why is the clown tail disintegrating even though there is no sign of disease. He came a little pale though which is why we own him. My wife felt bad for him which I know is the worst reason to buy a fish. Last, that white sac has me curious.

Welcome Sleeper!

Nice set up I also have an 80G. I also have that same white sac on my LR. I was very curious to find out what that was, so I touched it and that white stuff was a film covering some sort of brown sponge algae. That was a couple of days ago when I did that. Funny thing is that white film grew back on the same piece. I have no clue what its called or if it is harmful or not.

I wish you good luck with your new tank and a fast cycle!

That is not disintegration, it is mechanical damage from another animal. I would rethink housing a clarkii . Sounds like New tank syndrome. Ususally caused by about 3-15 sources of contrasting or inconsistant advise. In such a tank i would remove the weak and let it sit for a month to add to the advise list....= )
Just reread the post, the pulsing sac is a deads sponge colony that blended in with the lr perfectly unoticed, it died when your nitrates spiked (you did not catch the whole thing, only tested when it was nearly over) And is now undulating with the current as the insides have rotted and fuled the crash.

Thanks for the good luck 4G1v3N. Karma for ya.
Thanks for replying OoNickoC. I don't think it's the clarkii because they've been getting along great I could be wrong though). Could it also be that he loves to swim against the glass ALL THE TIME. He runs between the tank and the filter pickup as his main route. I will check both though and thanks again.
