Default new fish acting weird?

Hi all- I was finally able to introduce fish to my aquarium. I bought a Six-line Wrasse and a Banded Shrimp on Friday. The shrimp found a rock ledge to hide under that still allows visibility for me (everybody wins there!) but the Wrasse is acting odd. Upon introduction to the tank it sank to the bottom and began convulsing its tail and dorsal. It swims vertically while shaking its tail. I woke up on Saturday and it was half-way under a rock covered with sand. I marked him for dead and stuck the net in an he (or she) sprouted back to life and began eating and swimming in the normal fashion. Yesterday it seemed to have wanted to sleep in and was hid under a rock somewhere until noon or so. When it swims it just seems like the motion is not as smooth as it should be. Should I worry about this?

Does not sound to crazy for a wrasse, but check all your levels and run Carbon if you have not already

It sounds like the wrasse is trying to be an ostridge.

Sounds like pretty normal behavior for a wrasse.

My wrasse did a "Houdini" act as soon as he was introduced into the tank.......freaked me right out.

And sure enough, every day come beddy bye time he does a "jack-knife" dive right into the substrate. Fascinating creature!

Cheers
