| New 12 Gallon Nano Cube Deluxe Hi I just got the 12 gallon Nano cube for christmas. I went to my local LRS and they helped me out on setting the tank up. They started me out with some live sand and cured live rock. They also sold me Bio-Spira Marine to put one packet in the saltwater I bought from them which they mix with RO water. They told me to run the tank for 3 days and come back with a water sample. I did that went back my pH was low and they sent me home with some buffer. I added the buffer and went back later that night and my water was great no nitrates, nitrites or ammonia. They sold me a chromis and he has been in there since saturday. I have been testing my water and I still have no measurment of nitrates, nitrites, or ammonia. I hav notice that my rock in getting what I think everyone says is Diatoms. Brown all over my rock I know that comes from silica but should I get a clean up crew in there. Soon what do you think Thanks for your time.

| To 3Reef!!! Salutations! Glad to see you found way here!
Congrats on new tank!
Be patient and wait week or so to make sure fully cycled...even with "fully cured rock" --- you should see some spikes in water params.
I also have a 12 gallon nanocube, unfortunatly not the "delux" --- you will have a great time with it.
Spend time waiting reading, studying up and asking questions. We are here to help.

| Those are just nitrogen bubbles produced by the nitrogen cycle |

| I read a lot on this forum and saw some people have replace their stock pump for the 12 gallon nano cube went and did that today with the Maxi jet 900 and have the hydor flo deflector on and the extra flow from the maxi jet seems much better. Also my heater is actually able to control the temp before it was running around 81 and the heater was never coming on. Just cant wait to get thought this brown bloom. I know I have to be patient |
