need help with tests

hey guys, i have another silly question. i've done a lot of reading but would like some hands on advice.

last saturday i started my tank: crushedcoral, water, salt and have had the filter, heater, powerhead running. my specific gravity was really high so i worked on that problem. i finally have the sg down to 1.026 and i will fix that to 1.023. now i just started testing and i'm using redsea as it was on sale.
these were my results.

TEMP 80
ALK NORMAL TO HIGH (mine goes by colour only)
NITRITES 0.5
NITRATES 0
PH COLOUR LOOKED BETWEEN 8.2-8.4
AMMONIA 1.0

HOW DO I FIX THE NITRITES AND AMMONIA AND IS EVERYTHING ELSE OK?
WHEN WILL IT BE SAFE TO ADD LIVE ROCK?

Add your liverock now, Also add something to get the cycle going such as a raw shrimp from the grocer in a panty hose. This will create ammonia as it decays and will jump start your setup. Don't plan on adding any living thing for at least a month.

Also expect all your levels to raise yet again so don't get scared when that happens.
