Marble Cat Sharks

My buddy has a question about Marble cat sharks. He has a 75gal and used the ready made ocean water from Petco. ANyway, he added 120lbs sand and of course the sand made the water extremely cloudy. he is wondering when it is safe to add the sharks to the tank? He has had them in a med size box since 8:30 this morning. He has a pump in the box to add air and also a heater to keep it warm...any suggestions on this? The tank is not clearing very quickly at alll...he is afraid the cloudiness will hurt there gilss????

I am lost on that one.

I would advise against added them until the tank is clear and stable. May be a while. Was this a new tank? Or did he just add new sand?

He set up a new tank. Long story....this was not by choice by any means.

He had the sharks in the original container for 24 hours...he did add an air tube and a heater to try and make them as comfortable as possible. He checked the Ammonia this moring in the container and it was at .2 so he added the sharks to the tank...he had no choice...of course it is still cloudy as can be...he bought a 100 micron filter and has had it going for almost 2 hours...no change...he has cleaned the filter twice......any suggestions on how to get rid of the cloudiness??? I am open ears to help him save these guys......I was going to buy him some live sand to help the tank along...I did give him a few pieces of my live rock to also help and the pre-filter to my overflow....I was thinking of taking out the sand for him and getting the live sand in it's place...far less cloudy and it clears up within hours....this tank has been cycling with the filter for well over 24 hours with no change.

Update.....

I purchased 100 gallons of the ocean water from petco and 80lbs of live sand for my buddy tonight. Cleaned the tank out and scrubbed it nice and good. Added the live sand and about 40lbs of live rock from my reef tank. When we pulled the sharks out of the "old" tank...there bellies were very pink as well as the bottom of the mouth and nose...signs of stress I'm sure. *We put the sharks in the "new" tank and they immediately took to it. Showing great signs of life now...very active for sharks and the pink is diminishing finally. I think we saved them. We shall see what happens in the next few days.
