Question Living Rock Statue..??

Hello all..

New here, and just starting out, with a 53 gal. all glass tank.
A friend made, and gave me, to get me started in SaltWater..
I have had fresh water tanks many moons ago..!! I have been reading
everything about saltwater here..!! ALOT more to go..

What I'll like to know...
I have read alot about DIY Rock...
I have a cement statue, been out in the weather around 3 years, rain, sun, storms, and around 4 hurricans.. It's around 10 inches tall, my tank is 17.5 tall.. So the scale would look good.. It's an South Pacific Very old looking piece..

IF I treated it like DIY rock, soaking, etc.. And checked the water it was in to make sure calcium levels were OK and the pH. Was right.
Think I could turn this into Living Rock when added to my tank..After a few months. ??
Or do you think it would look out of place..?? funny, or strange ?
I wanted to get the look and feel of something lost in the ocean many, many years ago..

What do you guys think..

Thanks, Larry
Mobile Alabama

And what do you think about me going to the Gulf ( 20 miles from here )
And starting with living sand and water fron it.. I would let it filter, clean for around 4 or 5 weeks.. I would buy some living sand then to add to the other sand, and buy my living rocks..?? Would this be a bad way to get started..?? $$ is a little short..LOL
Thanks, for ANY Help......
I have spent alot on reef lights, Canaster Filter, and Sump.. My tank is still on the back porch testing for leaks..
I'm still learning, befor I even start to put it together..
PS
I really enjoy this Site, and ALL the info.. !!!

Not sure about your statue... But to each their own!

As for gulf sand, etc., someone's already made a good business of it!

Live Rock - Tampa Bay Saltwater Aquacultured Live Rock

I've bought a couple hundred pounds of live rock from richard and the team there over the years, and never been disappointed!

Statue OK if cement fully cured as you state.

If running stream nearby, I would park it in that for couple of weeks just to make sure.

Kind of a cool idea.

Have one off coast in Fla.

Good Luck.
