I could care less what people do with their time or money But many newer hobbyist do not know there is another way. And as for shapes I build a a reef for corals and not rocks shape and if you put one together Like I prefer to do in a few months the rocks can't be seen and are just holders for the coral bases to attach to. once one reaches that level they always forget about the W's of dollars they spent on rocks they can't see My son included. $1000,00 for a 150 lbs of Tonga he can't even see now..he No's better now Heck I'll add to what I think any of y'all who have ever kept a full blown reef or ever saw a picture of one on in person correct me in that if anyone ever walked in and looked and said man Look at that beautiful Live rock ? or man why is that purple long polyp millipora blocking my view of that worm ? hey if you took that blue acro out of the way i could see that rock much better ? And for the newer keepers get a I wish you would scrape that green star crap off so I could see the rock better ? I can't see that rock because the damn Pom Pom Xenia are in the way ? I have put tanks together with all home made rocks that you could not tell where cheap rocks you could barley see them from the coralline and corals . Go look at a really nicley grown reef and tell me you look at the rocks.. Some times you have to think outside the box and assume you will reach the next level above keeping L/R..

And Waste time and money, Im not sure i understand where Tangster is qualified to say who's time is wasted or how much money He thinks they waste. Thanks for your Opinon though.
One of my buddies who came into a lot of money order 500lbs of tonga branch base rock.

Its beautiful rock. Worth being able to see it and provide refuge for fish or eels. Thanks.
