| Lighting/sump I'm new to this hobby and i have a 75 gal. I would like to know what is the right amount of lighting to start a reef? I got a 20 gal long tank for my sump and i'm not sure what to put in it? |

| Welcome to 3 REEF!!!
What do you want do you want to grow and how much are you willing to spend? there are a lot of threads on minim lighting.
PC- will grow softies not much penetration
T5- more penetration can grow sps near top half of tank
MH/HQI- can grow all photosynthetic coral
I am not sure where the watts per gallon thread left off but you could brave it http://www.3reef.com/forums/reef-lighting/watts-watts-off-32818.html
