| kents liquid reactor Anyone ever try this product and does anyone have anything to say about it. You all know I have been trying to raise the CA and I have tried esv bionic and kents liquid calcium but they just aren't doing the trick. The liquid reactor is created to be like a calcium reactor just it's easier to use and cheaper? I would prefer an easy to use no drip method as I have no room for buckets and drips...also my cats would just destroy that. The guy at the LFS says he uses it and loves it. He only doses once a month and he maintains a ca of 450ppm?
I have been using the amarican pharm calcium test kit anyone have any remarks on it? I was thinking of getting a seachem or salifert I just don't want to waste more money on something I don't necessarily need. thanks all. _________ 20g

| I switched from the liquid reactor to kalkwasser(drip) and also using turbo calc to get the calcium up. I really have a hard time believing the gent at the LFS unless he doesn't have a single coral in his tank. But hey, IVE BEEN WRONG BEFORE ! I currently use a 1gal milk jug to drip into my tank because it can hide it easily. Yes I have to fill it up daily, but I also had to does the liquid reactor daily too. I'm noticing coraline growing A LOT better with this method.
It took me forever to get my calc up to 375 with liquid reactor. I went from 375 to 420 in two or three days with the kalkwasser and turbo calcium(kent). Granted, I don't believe liquid reactor is intended to shoot ur calcium up terribly fast.
Not sure about your calc test kit, I use the salifert one and like it very much.
Anyways, that's my experience with the stuff. Hope that helps some, best wishes!
Cheers!

| I use the kent as well but only because I got it for free.
I have dried kalkwasser waiting for when it is out.
There is also a good calcium product called milk I believe. I foget the mfg.
I used the Milk product for about 1.5 yrs and loved it.

| Have you tested your magnesium? I ask because if you don't keep your alk and mag levels up, you will not be able to keep your calcium levels up. Forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered. |

Regardless, that is a good point! | Sorry, that question was for Nemo but I'm glad to hear that you're monitoring your magnesium, something that not many aquarists feel is important to do, unless they start having alk/ca problems! |
