Welcome to 3reef first of all!
As for your tank set up... it will work for you. My best advice to you is to read about the saltwater hobby. How to set up the tank? equipment needed and how to set it up, Compatability of fish as well as husbandry and kinds of fish/ corals and inverts.
Make sure your tank is completely cycled through before adding anything to your tank! Make sure you have a deep sand bed and you may want to get some established sand from the local pet shop you work at to help "seed" your tank and make things happen alittle quicker as far as cycle time.
As for water movement and skimmer, the more you have the better. You really can't overkill it. Water movement helps to carry oxygen and nutrients to your corals etc. and remove detritus/sediment. It helps to eliminate stagnant areas in your tank and helps to replicate the tidal flows found in our reefs. The skimmer is really your main filter for a reef/saltwater tank. It removes the suspended waste products from every living thing in your tank. You can have a successful saltwater Aquarium by just your protein skimmer, lr and ls!!!!!
Well best of luck and let us know how your tank is going and the type of aquarium you plan on having. What kinds of fish/coral/inverts etc.!!!!! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F.
