My tank temp is at a steady 83 degrees Fahrenheit w/o a heater, I am thinking it is to hot and I should turn on my air conditioning. What is your opinion?

Is RO water needed or suggested for a fowlr tank?

You should probably get it down a couple degrees. Not to say everything's going to die, but just in case. It would help to use RO in any fish tank. Mainly for algae control.

I agree, RO is the way to go. It will save you a lot of problems in the future. 83 is high but for a fish only tank I wouldn't go crazy trying to get it down just as long as you don't have large sudden swings in temp.

Do you have an open top tank or is there a glass lid? If you have a canopy a simple fan mounted in it can drop a tank a few degrees.

RO water is always a good idea.

The tank is a corner acrylic with a completely closed tank. I also have a canopy on top.

can you remove or open the lids? They are probably what is helping trap in the heat.

When removing the lid your going to lose alot more water by evaporation. Just a reminder so your pump won't run dry. I do agree that you should remove the lid.
