Talking i dont have my tank setup yet, but im getting LS & LR, will i be ok?

I dont have the tank setup yet, but a guy that is helping me, is gonna bring me some live sand and LR this weekend. what do i need to do to take care of the LS AND LR? do i need to hookup my filter, skimmer, powerhead, heater or light?

Thanks for everyones help from this site, this place has been so much help to me.

In my opinion, the ideal is to hook it all up if you can. At the least get the heater and a powerhead or two going. The skimmer is also helpful if the LR is not cured.

Get a large food grade plastic container and fill it with salt water (I would use separate containers for rock and sand). Put your rock into one container with a powerhead and a heater. Put the sand into another container with an airstone (won't blow the sand around) and a heater.
