Exclamation I am still learning

2 questions about my tank.

Today I had an outbreak (thousands) of little white.... things... crawling around my glass inside the tank. They are about the size of a grain of fine sand but are obviously crawling. I tried to get a picture but you really cant see anything. What could these be????

2nd, I bought a Mushroom frag from my lfs as my first coral addition. There were 2 polyps on the frag. I have seen multiple ???baby polyps??? show up overnight and then dissapear as quickly. Now one of my ployps detatched from its rock (actualy a clam shell top) and is now looking healthier than ever on one of my pieces of live rock. I thought polyp detatchment was dangerous for coral.

You have the knowledge and I wish to learn!!!

Welcome to 3reef!!!
Mushrooms you will find out do this all the time as a way of finding a better place to live also, they reproduce this way as well by leaving one place and moving to another, but in so doing this, they leave a litttle piece of them behind to grow to a complete daughter mushroom!!!

Its amazing, all the things I did not purchase for my tank, flourishing. Each time I turn on the lights I find new things. Thus I have more brain picking to do.

I found something making "spider webs" over a small span between 2 rocks. I have seen something like this at my lfs but I am clueless on what it is. It looks attached to my live rock like a coral but it also appears to have snail like tenticles.

I found a bad anemone I saw in an earlier post today. I do not want to add detrimental chemicals to my tank. Is there anything that eats these that would get along with 2 maroon clowns, a basic cleaning crew and a coral banded shrimp?

Finaly, I am just happy so I am posting it. I have a collection of about 30 Zoanthids growing on the first piece of live rock I bought to start cycling my tank 2 months ago. Yay for getting more than I paid for!!

P.S. I just wanted to say thanks to those have replied to my many other posts. Coral Reefer and Inwall particularly. Someday I will be more knowledgable and will be able to help other newcomers. There is no Hobby I know of quite like this one.
I think I will set up a 20g nano in my restaurant. I think the kids might like seeing "nemo" in person.

The "spiderwebs" are probably spaghetti worms. Harmless.

Look at figure 2.
Enjoy,

Make sure your nano has a secure cover and out of the way of small fingers. Some little one may think "nemo" might like some extra food, or worse, throw in a coin containing copper...

Anyway is a great idea. Am thinking of turning my QT tank into a nano --- that way I will be forced into self-promise "NO MORE FISH" - which I have broken a couple times already. (except for the ones going in nano )
