I've used the same floating hydrometer off and on for 20 years (Marine Enterprises, Towson MD) and it is much more consistant than the newer floating arm hydometers. I've found similar ones in a catalog for $6.99. I can't comment on the refractometers, but the same catalog from ThatFishPlace lists one for $59.99. _________ -- SAW39 45 gal modified hex.
