Default How do water change your QT?

I'm setting up a 20 gal QT to go with my 55 gal main tank, and have a question regarding water changes:

(for reference, I was going to pilfer a piece of my LR from my main tank to "seed" the QT).

How often do you do water changes in your QT if there's nothing living in it? (aside from the rock, of course)

Does water that's being filtered / heated "go bad" after a time?

I think you should treat your QT like your MT because QT is suppose to be a place for you fish to get better...so, why would you want to put it in a tank that doesn't have good quality water IMO.

Also, if there are bacteria in the tank, you will have to feed them too.
