Default help pls regards on lights.

I am totally newbie and I am currently cycling my tank for almost a month now. i havent setted up my lights yet due of im still investing on a right lights for my tank. then all of sudden my friend gave me a t12 NO blue actinic. does this type of light is enough or at least might help for an all softies tank? ive had bumped before that soft corals dont really required too much light. i need an advice TIA

How many bulbs are in the light fixture ? And what is the name of the existing bulb and what size is the tank ?

There are very few corals that will grow under normal output flourescents. In this hobby you either go with t5ho (high output) or metal halide. Metal halides are more for sps and clams. For softies I would recommend a t5 ho light fixture that is 48" long. You want 4 x 54watts, 2 actnitic and 2 daylight. You need to do some reading on lighting because there is no easy/quick expanation. Lighting isn't the only thing corals require. What is currently in your tank and how is it set up, without more specifics it's difficult to help. How much liverock do you have, what fish do you have or plan to keep?

You can keep anything under T5HO's. Ive been keeping acropora tenius under them and they even colored up more with EXCELLENT growth.
