Personally, my main food for all my tanks is spirulina flake food. All my fish eat it except for the copperband and the seahorses; even my cleaner wrasses and my many butterfly fish gulp it down.

I do not use any flake food and prefer spectra pellets.
The pellets make it to the bottom feeders better.

Your best bet is to mix it up! Go with an algae type formula 2 food and supplement it with a formula 1 food as well to give your fish a variety, just as we eat a variety of foods.
One thing regarding flake foods and pelletized foods-they contain alot of phosphates-more so than frozen foods. Due to this, I would offer mainly frozen food to my livestock. Of course supplement some flake and pellet food as well but be careful not to overfeed(that goes for any food)!

Rayjay;
I see you have seahorses of which I recently purchased two myself. I have never had them before so was a little sceptacle but so far they are doing well. I was told they were tank raised and eat frozen food. I have been feeding them mysis shrimp of which I have actually seen one eat, but the other I have not seen eat at all. I have had them for two weeks now so I would think if the one I havn't seen eat, isnt eating it would be dead now??
What are you feeding your seahorses?
