Default Filtration suggestions

What do you guys think would be a good filter for a 36 gal bow reef tank. I currently use a wet/dry trickle with the bio balls but am looking to get away from that. Should I just turn it into a sump, or get a fuge, or possibly a hang on fuge? Whats everyone's take?

If you have a trickle filter now, turn it in to a sump / fuge combo. Search the forums for plenty of DIY versions. Thats what I would do. Keeps the display tank nice and clean looking
