Exclamation filters

can you use the hang on fliters? i have the aqua clear up tp 70 on my 55g i'm sure this isn't great but to start is it okay. r biowheels better? can't afford the real expensive stuff. never had any probs with the filter.

I use an aquaclear on my seahorse tank but only put carbon in it. I use live rock for the biological filter. The filter is also means of water movement which is important for air/water interaction.

I agreee with RayJay. I initially used the AquaClear for full filtration until I got my Live Rock and sump setup. I still use the AquaClear for the 3 reasons.

1&2 are what RJ above mentioned. The 3rd reason I use it is it give a lot of surface agitation, helping to relieve some of my heat issues.
