do I need to convert/switch stands? So the tank I'm going to set up is a standard 55 gallon and it came with one of the classic ornamental black iron stands common for freshwater - which leads to a couple questions.
With the addition of rock, heavier water, etc. will this stand still be enough to hold the tank? Also living in the midwest I know what road salt does to cars, so do I need to be worried about rust on this framework as well?
If rust is an issue could I just put say 1/2 plywood around that using the iron stand as the framework, also having a piece of wood on top so there is no direct contact from tank to iron?
Any other thoughts?
