| Copper in tank?! Hi, I am not sure if I have copper in the tank, but the silicon have a blueish green tint to it. I will be housing inverts. If it is copper, what can i do? would Cuprisorb from Seachem help? or putting silicon over the existing one? HELP!
Thanks!

| What is the history of the tank?
If it were me I would probably just wipe it down and use a poly filter* on setup and test after running it a while without livestock.
*(good for metals - I am not familiar with Cuprisorb ) |

| If you really suspect copper in the tank, I would really advise you get a copper test asap. You will know for sure if you have it, then look into the copper removing media.
Good luck,
Rick

| the tank used to be a cichlid and arowana tank, i bought it used from someone a few years back. i will be ready to set it up within 2 weeks top...gotta wait for my skimmer to arrive, so i can put up the baffles in the fuge for 'best fit per space.' I will try the poly filter or cuprisorb if the water's test show copper.
BTW, how much does poly filter run?
Thanks! |

Thanks! | www.marinedepot.com sells it for about 4-5 bucks. It's probably the cheapest I have seen it sell for. Everywhere else at LFS's run you about 8-12 bucks. |

| I've used cuprisorb to remove copper from a tank in the past. It works well and turns purple when it is exhausted. _________ 75g reef with Nova Extreme 8 bulb HO T-5 lighting, refuge, Remora skimmer, DSB, Seio powerheads, Acro's, LPS corals, assorted zoo's & mushrooms, Yellow Tang, Maroon Clown, Blue Cleaner Goby , Cleaner, Fire and Sexy Shrimp, Coco Worm, T.Crocea Clam, Derasa Clam
