Converting from FW to Reef

I think that most has been covered so far , RO/DI this is a great purchase it will save alot of time and money in the future you dont need the best just good.
I cant speek well for uv sterilizers some guys here use em some dont. however IMO put the RO/DI unit befor UV sterilizer.

Good luck ,go slow and remember you dont need fish to cycle a tank just time.

if you've dosed with copper, I wouldn't take a chance of it leeching into your reef tank...IMO I say no to that filter

Welcome to 3reef.There is really nothing I can say that has not already been said. I was just reiterate that the mechanical filtration is not necessary, although I do run a phosphate reactor where I run Seachem Seagel...With regard to cooper, I would not even take a chance with your existing filter...Also, as others have mentioned the sealant that is used in the building of tanks absorbs cooper and you may never be able to fully rid the tank of the residual cooper that may leach into the tank...Just my 2 cents...Good Luck...I have had freshwater for over 30 years and recently made the switch, although we still have a Malawi Cichlid and Planted community up...
