Default Cheatomorpha???

I was told and have read this is the easiest and best macro for a fuge? Any input on this?

Also, does anyone have any they would be willing to part with? I will of course pay if need be. I just need to find some. There is not one LFS or LPS that has any on hand within 100 miles. Thanks to anyone that can help. I was trying to do this before I left for AZ next Tuesday 11/9. Nitrates are creeping up on me again and want to nip this in the butt asap.

Thank you,

Todd

Did you build your fuge??? I put a DSB in mine to help keep the nitrates down. So far, Zero nitrates.....only one water change in 3 months and that was right after the cycle. (I had ionic issues)

Yep fuge is all done and running. No sand or any substarte currently. I was going to wait on that until I figured out if I wanted the mud or what and wait to find some macro.

Maybe a DSB would be better...I am so confused on what to do......

I know! It's confusing and overwhelming at times!

My thinking was this....DSB's definitely offer denitrification benefits....but....eventually they exhaust and cause some problems. I put is in my fuge so I can shut it off from the rest of the system, tear it out and replace it. I would also at that time, put all NEW salt water in the fuge. Just incase there was a release of hydrogen sulfide, it would not get into the main tank.

Best of both worlds. Up to you! Some folks do the sandbed with the mud on top too! Sorry, didn't mean to confuse....

Well I guess I can do the DSB and see how it goes. If it does not work then I add some macro. Nothing wrong with that.

I will see what happens tomorrow. I am watching the election status tonight of course and probably am not in the best state of mind to make an educated decision.

I will sleep on it whenever that happens and go from there.

Thanks Birdlady. You are always a help.

I just got the macro about 11 days ago. THe LFS had gotten some that had been sitting delayed in delivery for 3 days or so....he gave me some scraggly looking pieces for free....it has really grown quickly! I can't wait till the little box is full of green!

Here is a closer up pic...

I see a pump in your fuge area? Is this needed? I did not think that was a necessity as I did not plan on using one for mine.

Your fuge look sgreat though. I like the design. I took your advice on submerging the inlet hose under the water. It is nice and quiet now. If I could only get the overflow to cooperate now we would be set.

Anyway, looks great. I like free stuff too.
