Re: changes in salinity As the water evaporates, it leaves the salt behind, which raises the salinity level in the water that remains.
When do you get the 1.023 reading, is it right before you add the fresh top off water? Then adding the fresh will bring it down (diluting the water in the tank)
Dripping, like reiple said is much better for the smaller tanks. Keeps levels more stable. You could also add a bit of water several times a day. I have 2 small freshwater tanks and I just keep a gallon of water ready at all times and just pour a bit in when I walk by _________  I Love My Sig By John Hawkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!
