Very nice. What kind of corals will you be keeping mainly? _________  &&Right now I'm in the middle of a conversion from reef to Discus/ planted aquarium. Hair algae beat me down. Maybe a nano in the future. Everything screwed up so I'm converting to FOWLR. Wish me luck. | |

I'm wondering about the rock. Do they contain sawdust to help add texture?
If so, if the wood that the sawdust came from is Galvanized(spelling?), doesn't that contain copper/iron/zinc. wouldn't that cause unneeded metals be added into the system?

The rock I think he is using is made from Aragonite Sand, Portland cement, (and possibly some plastic shavings). It is called Aragocrete and you can actually make your own. See the thread under DIY making your own Rock. There is a whole section on the GARF website about making the mixture, the rock shapes and, most importantly, curing the rock!! _________  80 gal plywood/glass reef tank, AquaC Urchin Pro w/Mag 3, 38gal Sump/refugium w/Mag9.5, 2 Maxi Jet 1200, 2-200 watt Hagen Heaters, 100lbs CaribSea Aragonite, 80lbs handmade Aragocrete rock, 2-110W 48" VHO Actinic Blue, 2-110W 48" VHO 50/50, RO/DI, DIY coiled denitrator, Bi-color Blenny, Damsel, Yellow Tang, red/green lobophyllia, zooanthid frag, cabbage coral, asst. mushrooms, toadstool leather, frogspawn | |
