| Bubbles, lots of them hello... little question for some reason i have bubbles all over my tank. i have tiny ones floating everywhere, visible. i have bigger ones on my rocks. is this normal? should i simply leave them alone or is there something that is recommended to do with them? thanks, squirt _________ since 2/16/07: 14Gal. biocube with 10lb of LR, 15lb of LS. 48 watts PC's 2 firefish, 10 hermits, sand sifting star |

| Check your skimmer (if you have one). Most of the time they are the culprit for micro bubbles in the tank.

| My tank did the same thing the day I upgraded my lights. I think the algea and bacteria are just working overtime with all the light. Mine is going away more everyday... Your probably about to get a big algea bloom so be prepared!! LOL.

| The big bubbles on your live rock are the result of algae taking CO2 and giving off O2(photosynthesis). As for the micro bubbles, if you don't have a skimmer, then the bubbles may be due to you not having enough water in the back part of the cube to totally cover the return pump thus mixing ambient air and water together returning to your tank!
Is their a noise accompanying the bubbles?
Are you using a skimmer?
Is your water between the minimum and maximum level marks on the side of the tank?
Are we talking about the Oceanic biocube also?
Hope this helps! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. | as turbo said, i don't have a skimmer and the water level is always on the line. i constantly check the water level and its at its max. i don't know if you guys know what the interior of the filter system of the biocube looks like, but where the tubing is that shoots the water back into the tank, its only 1/4 filled with water. at first i thought it needed to be topped off but the water regulator shows that its at its max. i would need a skimmer to remove the bubbles?

| No, a skimmer could be the cause of the bubbles. Bubbles could escapefrom the skimmer back into the tank. A skimmer won't help eliminate the problem.

| I think it would be good to upgrade your pump to a maxijet 600 minipump, and remove your bioballs and replace with rock rubble, and place some filter floss in the first chamber to break down the water from srashing and forming some bubble. |
