Default Re: Best In-Sump Skimmer for $100-$200??

the ASM G1X is $210 and will be the best perfroming skimmer in that class. Then figure in the 6% discount and you are under $200.

Thanks,

I got a AquaC EVO180 and I really think the ASM is better, the fact you don't need to tweak is welll worth it. I also say get the biggest one you possible can get. Would splurge if all possible.

People also like to say airstone skimmers suck, but it seemed to help yours out right? If you have to empty it every week, then I think it's working fine. THe proof *is in the pudding.
Yes, the airstone helped my Seaclone 100. *But, it is skimming well on my 30 gallon. *This weekend I am going to transfer the Seaclone to my 55 and we'll see how it skims then.

Where can you get the ASM G1X? *I found a place where I can get a EuroReef ES5-2 for $201 shipped.

In your opinion is the ASM better than the Euroreef?

If you get on RC there is only one skimmer...the EuroReef. *Nanoreef.com....the AquaC. It is almost like there are kickbacks being given.

I really like this board because of my initial impression that it is not convoluted with "holier than thou reef pros"and "elitist aquarists".

I like being able to get an objective opinion and not patronized because I am new to the reef world. *That said.....

THANK YOU! *to the members of this board.

I sell the ASM skimmers and you save 6% with coupon code 3REEF entered at checkout. The euroreef is fine but the ASM is slightly bigger. The euroreef and ASMS use the same pumps but the euroreef is made from thicker material then the ASM making it less exspensive but the performance is the same as the euroreef.

Darin:

Will the ASM G1X fit in a 10G sump? I have two 10G tanks joined due to space restictions in the stand. One is a sump, the other is a refugium. So I do have some requirements for skimmer size.

THe skimmer has a footprint of 10" x 8 1/2" so you will have to measure your set up to see if it will fit.
