| Ok, got my QT setup. Used fresh saltwater and seeding it with my Aquaclear70. What now? How long till I will be able to put a fish in there? |

| Well I got my first fish today. A clown of course, small as heck also. I'm acclimating him with the drip methods. Which brings me to my question. When I put it in the bucket to acclimate. I tested the SG, it was like 1.015. So I figured it would be best just to drip slow till the SG get's to the same as my QT. Is this right? It seems logical, being it would reduce SG shock. and what does everyone think about aggresive quarantine? |

| My tank is a month older than yours and I'm acclimating 3 snails right now. Thats it. Got my 2 clowns that I used to cycle. It is going on 10 weeks now. Clowns are probably the best bet in your cycle, but after this slow it down. Take your time and watch parameters closely. I wouldn't add anything after this for more than a month. Remember, only bad things and bank account drains happen quickly in saltwater. _________ 55 gallon slowly growing reef aquarium, 85 lbs. live rock, 2 1/2" sandbed, 1 False Percula Clown, 1 Sixline Wrasse, 1 Mandarin Goby, Tetratec PF500 filter, 2 110 watt URI Super Actinic VHO actinics, 2 250 watt metal halides with Reef Optix 2 reflectors powered by Blue Wave 3 ballast, born 1/3/08 My Tank Thread My Tank Video |

| Welcome to you. Great advice here @ 3reef, just ask as you are doing.
I have to agree that your tank is not yet fully cycled. I waited 4 months before I put snails and then @ 9 months an urchin.
Be patient and you will save a lot of hard earned cake.
Just ask around here and learn from our wallets.
