gkw Peppermint Shrimp Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 403 Karma: 38	Anyone here run a Algal Turf Scrubber?? I am wondering if I should do a DSB or an Algal Turf Scrubber in my 29gal fuge. I currently do have 2 softball sized Chaeto in there and about 2 - 2.5 inches of oolite sand. DSB: Would a DSB of 5 inches enough to support my 125gal (will be reef in 6 months)? Do I have to stir the sandbed once in a while to prevent a "crush?" (stir in both the MT and fuge?) Algal Turf Scrubber: How much macro algae is consider enough to support my 125gal? Is it more effective than DSB? Thanks! GKW _________ Started on Jan 24, cycled on Feb 17 125 gallons (72" x 18" x 22"), 20 gallons sump, 29 gallons fuge. 90 lbs sugar fine sand in MT and 30 in fuge. Equipments: Coralife Super Skimmer 220 w/ an air pump to increase micro bubbles, Mag drive 9.5 return pump 2 Maxi 900 and Rio+ 2100 as powerheads, Mag 350 filter Lighting: 110watts PC, 70watts NO Resident: 2 Polyps Ricordia Royal Gramma, Lawnmower Blenny Sally Light Foot Pepermint Shrimp 70 Blue Leg Hermits 25 Snails
