| Aiptasia or a friendly? Heya 3reef peeps,
Ive had my 155L (sorry no idea what that is in gallons) salt water tank for about three months now and just recently got my last lot of live rock.
On one of the rocks there were a few anenome looking critters and seein as ive heard a few people talking about aiptasia in less than friendly terms i was wondering if thats what ive got?
Theres these two reddinsh orange ones...
and im not too sure how to add more than one pic so ill post again |

I've never seen an atapsia with a long stalk like that. In the bottom picture. It sure looks like an anemone to me. (pun intended)
Enjoy your tank.

| Re: Aiptasia or a friendly? How big are they? Aiptasia will generally not get larger than 1" in diameter. By looking at your first picture, it looks like Aiptasia to me. I had one, took the rock out and threw it away! They are VERY hard to get rid of.

| Re: Aiptasia or a friendly? Hmmm they are not that big... no more than a couple of centimeters, that is of the diameter of the disc.
Its probably a bit hard to tell with the pictures hey...I'll try to get a pic or two of decent quality.... |
