| actinics are blue lights that cause corals to fluoresce. Actinics can be T5 HO, t12 VHO, T8 NO, led, PC and so on. T5's are a kind of high output fluorescent bulb that is gaining a lot of popularity as it boasts high output, low wattage, and a wide array of color options _________ |

| So is it ok if I keep these lights on only for the first few months after cycling so that the coralline will grow? |

| Actinics also provide a coral better growth as a result of its ability to be absorbed by a corals zooxanthellae plus zooxanthellae favor bluer end spectrum lighting better than towards the red end.
Colors are more vibrant with a bluer color
it also can represent dusk and dawn time periods(good transition from darkness to full lighting)
