Acclimating puffers

I just bought a valentini puffer which should be coming home soon. I have read that puffers are not supposed to be exposed to air. The LFS told me that in the case of this puffer it's ok to quickly move him from bag to tank with a net as long as I do it quickly.

Any thoughts?

It was my understanding that puffing causes some issues with trapped air. I have not heard they can not be in air at all.
I would acclimate it as normal then do it carefully but quick

Its ok to move it quickly from the bag to the tank. I've been keeping sharp nosed puffers for years. They make great pets! They have alot of personality and will learn to recognize you. Good choice for a FOWLR.

Just acclimate them slowly! The less time out of the water the better! Nice fish. I can't have anything like that in my reef tanks though.
