It's not that I am catagorically against them--everything in this hobby has its pros and cons. It's just that IME, a wet-dry is not as efficient as a FBF IF additional biological filtration is what is being sought. As someone pointed out above, a sufficient quantity of quality live rock is really all the biological filtration you need with a modest bioload that doesn't fluctuate much.
