1200GPH flow in a 55 0r 75 Gallon tank

Hi I'm thinking of setting up 55 or 75 Gallon tank with live coral. I'll be using an ecosystem filter only. For the sump cycle do you think that 1200 GPH is too much?

I think you should be fine. You could add a ball value to control the flow.

I just found something on the web to answer my question. Let me post it here for anyone else that is wondering what I did.

The turnover rate of the water in your tank should be between 10-15x so if I have a 55Gal tank
55x10 = 550 GPH
55x15 = 825 GPH

So I should aim for between 550 and 825 GPH overflow and pump.

Don't forget your pump is going to be connected to your ecosystem filter and if your going to connect anything else to it, your flow won't be 1200 gph it will be less. I would keep the 1200 gph.
