Ballasts...

    i keep reading about ballasts when using mh's. what are they? why do you need them? and how do you know which one to get?

    sorry...it's another newbie question but figured someone else out there was wondering the same thing. thanks for the help!

    If you buy a metal halide light fixture it will come with the ballast :)
    It is one of the components in your fixture that converts 110 Vac to a usable voltage to ignite and run you metal halide bulb.
