    If I could get either for about the same price which one would be better? I am not doing SPS but mabey a clam and LPS. Thanks in advance!

    IMO, it depends how deep the tank is.
    20" --150w
    24" --250w
    over 24"----400w.
    400 WAY over kill. You wont have a reef tank, more like a fish stew.
