Thumbs up Indroducing: Ph Adjustment Rock

Hi every one!
Today I would like to introduce you a great product: Ph adjustment rock

For details: Ph Adjustment Rock - Mad Captain's Aquarium

I have use this product for over a year in various tank (fish only and reef tank. only soft corals in these tanks) and here are my comments about it:

-I does elevate Ca as it clame to do. My Ca level stay between 400 and 500 at all time. That's great
-I does elevate Alkalinity as it clame to do but I have notice that it goes a little to high if I wait more than a month before to do a water change. I had this problem at first: I had no nitrate and phosphate so I made less water changes.
-PH: using it, my ph is at 7.9 in the morning and 8.4 before bed time (+/- 0.1 depending on the tank). That's great.
-Magnesium. Yes it does maintain a certain level of Magnesium but it looks like it is not suffisent. my Magnesium is 900 if I don't use other supplement. Still not bad but would prefer a higher level. anyway, it makes me save a little in Mg additive.
-Trace Element: I did not test trace elements in those tanks.

We have sold lot of this product and only had one bad comment. This bad comment was from a guy who decide to replace his calcium reactor and installed ph rock in his system. The problem was that it took him over a week to adjust the water flow and return pipe properly (water flow must be 10X per hour and the return pipe must be above water surface). over that week, ph was unstable and this have cause a few lost.
So make sure to read and follow the instruction properly. Personally, I prefer to set up the tank and let it run until ph is stable before to add any live stock.

I do recommend this product for aquarist who wants to keep things easy and save money on additive. Results are really good: coral grow great, fish do really well, etc. For sure, it is not the product for aquarist who want to be in total control of everything as Mg, Ca, Ph, trace elements and Alkalinity are taken care by the same product.

If you have any question about this product please let me know and I'll try to help you figure everything out.

regards,
Patrice Lapointe

Hello,
That's right, some testimonial or something like that would be good. when I first found about those product, it took me a while before I give it a try. Finally, after few weeks of reserch, I found 2 stores, one in British columbia and one in texas who use it. After I spoke to these guy, I decided to give it a try.

I made a quick search on the internet for you. here is what I found:
Totally Aerobic Nitrogen Cycle

To good to be true ? [Archive] - .::AquariumPros.ca::.

New 75 Gallons Reef Step by Step Project - The Reef Tank

Comments about those products are not many but I hope it help. Maybe you can reply to those post and ask how things are doing at this time.

regards

hi,
The best way to use it is in a canister filter. if use this way, the quantity needed can be calculated like this; tank volume (in gallon) X 0.7 lbs
You can also use it as a gravel in your tank. the quantity needed for this is: tank volume (in gallon) X 2

Personnally I don't like to use it as a gravel beacause it takes to much of it and I don't like to have white gravel in my tank.
