Default Christmass idea for your nano tank

Hello everyone,

This christmass, whay not give a try to the incredible Haitt filtration system that eliminate No3, Po4 from your tank. To make it really easy, we make you some complete kit for tanks up to 25 gallon here:
eBay Store: Search results for right now bacteria.

All you need is to place the carbon in a canister and add the bacteria. For my 15 gallon, I use a fluval filter. for smaller tank, you could also use an aquaclear filter or any other small filter. Results are incredible. Note that you can simply put the carbon in a sump but testing have showed that results are not as great.

Just as an example, we have installed this carbon system on an 80 gallon (fish only) couple weeks ago. That tank was a real mess: super high nitrate (over 50ppm!!!) and high phosphate. Yesterday, No3 level was 2.5ppm and my salifert test did not found any trace of Po4 (all this without water chante!!) In any good setup, this system will keep No3 and Po4 at close to zero at all time!
And the best is that this system will not need to be replace before an other 4 years! I suggest to add some more bacteria every few month but you could do without that. Just keep doing your monthly water changes and rinse the carbon every month.

Hey!

I'm a little bit concerned about this product:

From the manual:

Quote:
It=s optimum pH range is between 5.5 to 9.0.
Thats truly amazing. I've been studying industrial microbiology and never heard about such a broad range of pH for optimal breakdown.

Quote:
Bacteria at 250C, replicates every 10 - 15 minutes.
At 250C all scientifically known proteins denature and breakdown to single aminoacids, that are further broken down to ketoacids and related! I assume this is a typo!

Quote:
Ammonium will destroy living tissue much like Sodium Hydroxide (Lye). When tissue is destroyed, the fish can no longer exchange oxygen
Ehh... This is lame. Looks like a copy/paste.

Quote:
Ammonium Ion {NH4+} [Ammonium Salt], is the univalent ion [radical]
Radical (chemistry) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I hope authors will notice an error in the manual and correct it.

Quote:
When used in conjunction Haiti's Metal Gone which reduces 28 heavy metals (including phosphorous)
Hmm... Didn't know phosphorous is considered as a heavy metal.

There are many scam attempts on the ebay nowadays and considering the quality of the manual... Hmm...

Cheers,
Camil

250C is a little high. 25C would be the right temperature.

That's right, this product can brings lot of questions. I can't tell to much about microbiologie and what Right Now Bacteria is made of but I can tell about my experience. This is the product I use at home and at work with great succes.
All tanks setup for our clients this way are totally healty for fish and intertebrate.
The use of Tri base Pelletized carbon with Right Now Bacteria has never been a problem when use properly. Once installed, you will see a drastic reduction of the No3 and Po4 withing the next day.

If your tank is nice and healty, you might not need to replace your system but if your having pollution issue or simply want to try something new, I thing this would be a good option.
