| nitromax-when adding live rock to aquarium just wanted to give everyone a bit of information on a great product to use when adding live rock.
NITROMAX MARINE, BY TROPICAL SCIENCE, is excellent for controlling the ammonia spike associated with adding live rock.
i had an ammonia spike when i added some 35 lbs of live rock to my tank, within the past 2 weeks.
i put the nitromax in the tank as directed, every other day, for the past 2 days, and my ammonia problem is under control.
i strongly advise anyone adding live rock to his/her aquarium, to use this product.IT REALLY WORKS!!!!
i also use MARINE MAX, by the same company, when adding new fish, and also periodically, to protect against disease, and enhance the color of the fish. IT'S AWESOME!!!

| i agree with your point, but this product seemed to allow for more rock to be added to the tank, in a shorter amount of time.
i just wanted to share my experience with you guys, in case you had similar issues with ammonia spike. it took care of that for me immediatly |

| There are lots of products that claim to remove ammonia, but is it only a quick fix?
An establised tank would be able to handle any amount of live rock going in it i should think. I've always added live rock to my tank with out even considering about a mini cycle taking place - and ive had no ill fates happen to me. _________ You will never know whats in my tank as i can only type 15 words |

| well, i've had my tank running about 4 months, now. my refugium has been running about 2 months. i started my tank with only about 5olbs, or so of l/r. if i had to do it over again, i'd add all the rock from the start ($$$).
the rock i've been adding has been l/r, that was uncured, but left at the lfs, to cure for me. i purchased 88lbs, total. so far, i've added abot 50lbs, of the rock, with the rest still at the store, where it's been curing since initial purchase, about 3 weeks.
when i tested my water, after adding 17.5 lbs, i had an ammonia spike. i purchased the nitromax, and after 2 applications, no ammonia!
i just wanted to share that with the newbies(myself included), because there are so many questions about l/r posted on the site. take it for what it's worth. |

| Perhaps your tank took care of it by it self in the time it took to give the 2 applications.
What are the ingrediants for this product?? |

| Stability and Prime pretty much do the same thing, all stability is, is the same bacterias that grow in your sand and LR anyway.
But as stated before a really mature tank and cured LR shouldn't have any kind of hugely traverse affects. _________ 24G JBJ Nano, 20# Live Sand, 40# Live Rock
Rose BTA, Kenya Tree, Frogspawn, Xenia, bubble coral
Blue/Green Chromis, 6 Line Wrasse, 2x Black & White Percs, Dragon Goby
58G Oceanic, 60# LS, 60 LR, Lots of goodies |

| Nitromax Marine
Protects against ammonia buildup and provides much faster cycling times and healthier water conditions in your aquarium. Like a biological filter in a bottle! Nitromax contains over 2 billion beneficial bacteria per ounce. The only pure maximum-density blend of nitrosomonas and nitrobacter combined with oxygenating bacteria boosters for saltwater aquariums. Use one teaspoon from bottle #1 and #2 for each 10 gallons every other day until the ammonia level becomes acceptable. Use the same dose when adding new fish or doing water changes. 16 oz treats 425 gallons.
