| Live Rock - Cured, Precured, Seeded, Uncured... Something I haven't been paying attention to is the condition Live Rock is in when purchasing from the store... Can someone explain the different stage LR comes in and the various procedures that need to be followed in introducing LR to your tank... I was told that the LR I purchased was cured but how do I really know?
Thanks, |

  | Re: Live Rock - Cured, Precured, Seeded, Uncured.. fully cured lr will have a fresh clean smell to it, rock that has die off or sold fresh and shipped will have die off and start to smell. a lot of lr will have sponges on any that have been xposed to air will turn pure white then black thats a good sign to look for.
the lr you purchased was it locally? a fresh clean smell and full of life is a good sign. if it was shipped at all even the 2day ship it shuld be cured again

| Re: Live Rock - Cured, Precured, Seeded, Uncured.. The best way to cure LR is when you start a new tank and cycle the sand bed along with it. If this is not possible, a bucket with salt water and a power head will do. _________ Just tryin to recreate God's perfection in a glass bowl. 20 Gallon Reef W/Live Rock, mated pair of Maroon Clowns, Softies, 110 watts PC 10,000k lighting, and skimmer. |
